Welcome!  textBEAST™ can decrease everyday repetitive typing and increase your productivity by allowing you to organize and reuse text.

With textBEAST™ you can:

  • Copy and store frequently used text
  • View, edit and organize your stored text
  • Easily locate and paste your stored text into other applications

To help you organize your text collection, each textBEAST™ data file contains:

  • 10 Libraries, each library with
  • 9 Pages, each page with
  • 20 Textboxes

You can create any number of data files, limited only by your hard disk space!

There are 3 ways to use textBEAST™:

1) Paste text into another window: This is the quickest way to insert text.

  • Select your target: click on the desired destination in another application
  • Click the textBEAST™ paste/send button ( or  ) beside the desired textbox to paste/send the text item directly into the target application, at the target location. You can paste/send any number of text items, one at a time, by pressing the desired paste/send buttons.*

2) “Drag and Drop” can be used when  is checked. To drag and drop, click on the desired textBEAST™ textbox, and while holding the mouse button down, drag the mouse pointer to the destination and release the button. Text can be dragged and dropped into other applications that support drag and drop. You do not have to highlight/select the text within the textBEAST™ textbox, as this is done automatically: just click, drag and drop! This is also a great way to “load” textBEAST™ with text items.*

3) Basic Copy/Paste is an alternative method in the unlikely case that the target application does not accept either of the above methods. Just press a text paste/send button as in option 1 above, then paste the text into the target application by pressing the ALT and V keys at the same time or by pressing the right mouse button and then clicking “paste” on the pop-up menu.*

In all 3 methods, text formatting and size are determined by the window that text is inserted into. To allow this feature, formatting information is not stored in textBEAST™.

* IMPORTANT NOTE: When FULL text is not visible, the INSERT TEXT option in the upper left corner determines whether LABEL or FULL text is pasted/inserted (more on this below).

LABEL and FULL text:

Each textBEAST™ text item is actually 2 items: LABEL and FULL text. As the name indicates, LABEL is intended to be used as a label for the associated FULL text, but can be used as a completely separate item if you wish. If the FULL text is a long item and cannot be quickly identified by the first sentence that is visible in the textbox, it is easier to label it with a meaningful name placed into the LABEL textbox. This way, you can very quickly find and use long items. If you wish, FULL text can be hidden to simplify the appearance of textBEAST™ and allow a longer LABEL to be seen.

If you want to use LABEL as a label for the FULL text:

  1. Press the   button to show the FULL textboxes.
  2. Place the desired text into the FULL textbox**
  3. Type a brief but meaningful label into the SHORT textbox.
  4. Press the PEEK button to hide the FULL textboxes.
  5. For the INSERT TEXT option, select FULL
  6. When you PASTE/SEND or DRAG/DROP the LABEL text, the FULL text will be inserted (note that the paste/send text button’s appearance will correspond to the LABEL/FULL selection for the INSERT TEXT option:
  • if LABEL text is selected, the single arrow image will appear (>)
  • if FULL text is selected, the double arrow image will appear (>>)

If you want to use LABEL and FULL text as separate items:

  1. Press the  button to show the FULL textboxes.
  2. Place the desired text into the LABEL and FULL textboxes**
  3. Leave the FULL textboxes showing
  4. PASTE/SEND the items by pressing the buttons to the right of them or DRAG/DROP as described above in 2) Drag and Drop.

** Each textbox can be “loaded” by one of 4 methods:

  1. Select desired text in another application then click the numbered button  beside the target textbox. You can then choose whether it is copied into the LABEL or FULL textbox.
  2. Drag/drop from other applications (be sure that textBEAST™ Drag/Drop ON is checked).
  3. Copy/paste from other applications.
  4. Type directly into it.

Works with: Windows Vista, XP, 2000, ME, and 98!
